Research Focus
I am currently studying communities of arthropods in Joshua Tree National Park. I have been working with Dr. Redak, Kathleen Campbell, and Tom Prentice to determine whether suburban development along the park margins has effects on the arthropod community compositions. By composition I mean overall species abundances and species diversity, as well as the proportions of arthropods within different feeding guilds. This work may be extended to examine other "edge effects," such as influences of vegetation gradients or roads through the park.
